Conducted by the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), the Cambridge Checkpoint Exams are conducted at two levels; Cambridge Primary Checkpoint tests taken by learners at the end of Grade 6, and the Cambridge Secondary Checkpoint Exams to be taken during Grade 7/8. They test skills, knowledge and understanding of the curriculum for English, English as a Second Language, Mathematics, and Science. Special classes and training materials are provided for the students at New World to help them face these examinations with ease.
The tests are marked by Cambridge examiners in the UK and provide a benchmark of learner performance at an international level where the learners receive a statement of achievement and a diagnostic feedback report.
The Feedback reports show how a learner has performed in relation to the curriculum, their learning group, the whole school, and against all learners who have taken tests in that series around the world.
Cambridge Checkpoints help teachers to monitor group and individual performance, and manage future learning and provide the student with extra coaching and equip them with the confidence to face a public exam.

Cambridge Advanced is typically for learners aged 16 to 19 years who need advanced study to prepare for university and higher education. Cambridge Advanced builds on the foundations of Cambridge Upper Secondary, although learners do not need to complete that stage before this one. Cambridge International Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and Advanced (A) Levels are internationally benchmarked qualifications providing excellent preparation for university education. Cambridge International AS Levels have half the content of the corresponding Cambridge International A Level and may be completed in one year, usually in grade 11.
At NWIS, we offer subjects from both the Science and Commerce streams. The flexibility of subject combinations and its international relevance makes it popular amongst the learners. We offer programs that encourage high academic standards that prepare the students for these competitive examinations.

Cambridge International AS and A Level syllabuses have been created specifically for an international audience. The content of International AS and A Levels is carefully devised to suit the wide variety of Cambridge schools worldwide and avoid any cultural bias. They are taken in over 125 countries and offer a choice of 60 different subjects. Cambridge International AS and A Level qualifications are widely recognized and valued by universities and employers alike. Every year, thousands of Cambridge International A Level students gain places at good universities worldwide – including the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. Three fair passes at ‘A’ level allows a student to skip the foundation year at US, UK and Canadian Universities.
Egyptian Universities need student to have eight ‘IGCSE’ level subjects and two ‘A’ levels or four AS levels with proof of 12 years of schooling.
Jordanian Universities need students to appear for at least six IGCSE/GCSE subjects and two A level subjects.
Both Egyptian and Jordanian Universities need Arab students to do ‘Arabic’ as First Language.
Pakistani students need a minimum of 5 subjects at the IGCSE level and must do Islamiyat, Pakistan Studies and Urdu, if they plan to go back to their home country after “0” Levels.
